Our Village

Schröcken is a small village in the Bregenzerwald region. It is picturesquely nestled between seven mountains on an altitude of 1200 m to 1500 m above sea level in the headwaters of the Bregenzer Ach and at the foot of the Hochtannberg Pass.

The area around Schröcken was first settled around 1300.

Originally the place was called "Girsboden".

Our house is located in Nesslegg, which is the highest of seven parcels of land in Schröcken at an altitude of 1500 m.

Please feel free to visit the Alpmuseum "uf`m Tannberg" which was built in 1453 and was long a mountain alp to learn more about Schröcken and its inhabitants.
